Nice pictures (I look terrible on the black and white one...I´m the guy on the right side with the shirt that looks like a wallpaper :-)..Ive got a family on my own now and a lot of work. (Working with some delinquent teenagers in an asylum)Did some Escrima workout and HubudLubud stuff with them in summer. | Comments: | Although I Have heard about some of the Phillipino arts, I have never experienced it first hand...my background is training in the Korean arts of Soo Bak Do(formerly Tang Soo Do), Tae Kwon Do with a heavy influence of Japanese Aikido - This foundation has led me to the growing popularity of MMA where I currently sponsor and train with several up and coming fighters in the UFC...I met Meka in NYC a few weeks back and he introduced me (verbally) to his passion of Eskrima Silat...this style fighting is very new to me...had a little experience with some stick fighting and "sticky hands" work with various Kung Fu instructors that were friends...I'm going to try and make the Oct seminar...Thanks |

Through a person named Meka on Myspace, Meka, thank you!I studied escrima when I lived in California, with Dan Inosanto many years ago. Its been hard to link with anyone local throughs those Filipino Martail Arts Directories they list plenty of names and level of expertise, but where they are is never listed, So much for directories! I Studied for about two and a half years and I continue to keep the art deep in my heart! Are there any instructors in the Bronx?
